SUMMARY:Nine Paths to Wholeness
DESCRIPTION:Nine Paths to Wholeness – An Introduction to the Enneagram \n  \nSaturday\, March 16\, 2019\n10:00a.m. – 1:00p.m.\nCost:  $45\n  \nWhat’s your number?  Your Enneagram number or type represents your characteristic way of looking at the world\, yourself\, and others.  With roots in the Sufi tradition\, the Enneagram is enjoying a resurgence of interest in many settings.  From Motorola and the CIA to spiritual formation and leadership studies at Georgetown and Stanford\, people are discovering the practical wisdom of this ancient tool. \nKnowledge of the Enneagram helps us understand the motivation behind behavior—our own and that of others—helping us to be responsive rather than reactive with others.  Although we will each have a primary number or type\, we all have access to all nine types.  In this introductory course\, we will explore the nine types\, points of integration and disintegration for each\, and the centers of intelligence.  Previous experience with the Enneagram is helpful but not required. Participants are encouraged to take one of many available online Enneagram tests as a way to begin thinking about type. \nThe word Enneagram comes from the Greek word “ennea” meaning nine and representing the nine personality types. \n  \n[button link=”https://brigidsplace.ejoinme.org/Enneagram” color=”custom” size=”large” stretch=”no” type=”flat” shape=”round” target=”_blank” title=”” gradient_colors=”#8D66A0|#8D66A0″ gradient_hover_colors=”#bf9d74|#bf9d74″ accent_color=”#ffffff” accent_hover_color=”#fff” bevel_color=”” border_width=”0px” icon=”” icon_position=”left” icon_divider=”no” modal=”” animation_type=”0″ animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”1″ alignment=”” class=”” id=””]Register Now[/button] \n  \n  \n \n\n\n  \nMcGehee Conference Room \nChrist Church Cathedral \n1117 Texas Avenue \nHouston\, TX  77002 \n  \nwww.brigidsplace.org

SUMMARY:Come To The Quiet- A Day of Prayer with Kathleen Church
DESCRIPTION:COME TO THE QUIET\nEntering the Busy Season Mindfully and Prayerfully\n\nSaturday\, November 18\, 2017\nMcGehee Conference Room\,\nChrist Church Cathedral\nPresented by Brigid’s Place and Kathleen Church\nTake time to settle your heart\, your mind and your spirit – before and in preparation for the busiest time of the year. Planning family gatherings\, preparing meals\, seasonal decorating\, shopping for gifts can be joyous and exhausting. They often leave us depleted and far removed from the invitation of Advent to Wait in Hope and Quiet for the One WHO IS TO COME. How do you want to enter into this busy season this year? How can we begin now to make conscious choices that will help us experience the fullness of these days with gratitude and generosity of spirit and peace? How can we be present to the demands of everyday life AND present to the love that is the source of all life? \nJoin us for a day of prayer and reflection in preparation for this hectic time. We will enter into some familiar scripture scenes to see how Jesus taught His followers to BE IN THE PRESENT MOMENT in a busy world. We will listen reflectively to music and read poetry to help us center and recover our equilibrium when life speeds up. Most importantly we will learn to let go and enter into the quiet of our own hearts where the source of all life and love awaits us. \nPlease join our company of women – followers of Jesus – on this day of deepening our life with and in God. \n  \n[button link=”https://brigidsplace.ejoinme.org/ComeToTheQuiet” color=”custom” size=”large” stretch=”no” type=”flat” shape=”round” target=”_blank” title=”” gradient_colors=”#8D66A0|#8D66A0″ gradient_hover_colors=”#bf9d74|#bf9d74″ accent_color=”#ffffff” accent_hover_color=”#fff” bevel_color=”” border_width=”0px” icon=”” icon_position=”left” icon_divider=”no” modal=”” animation_type=”0″ animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”1″ alignment=”” class=”” id=””]Register Now[/button] \n\n\n\n. \nKathleen E. Church\, LCSW is a psychotherapist and spiritual director in private practice in Houston. She holds M.A’s from Fordham University in Clinical Social Work and from Boston College in Pastoral Counseling. In addition to her private psychotherapy practice\, Kathy enjoys leading retreats and days of prayer. Brigid’s Place is pleased to partner with Kathleen to bring you this Advent Day of Prayer. \n  \n \n

SUMMARY:Dark Nights of the Soul: Jung\, Dante and the Red Book
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, February 26 at 7 pm\nThe Jung Center\n$15 members/$20 general admission \nHow can art help guide us through periods of difficulty and transformation? In the middle of death\, disaster and despair\, Dante created a map for his own inner transformation by penning The Divine Comedy. Seven hundred years later\, Dante’s work served as inspiration for C. G. Jung’s own imaginal process of healing and revelation that ultimately became The Red Book. In this multi-media lecture\, we’ll compare these two inward journeys of descent and integration through lecture\, story and art in a celebration of the transformative power of art and literature to heal and guide us.
