January 6, 2020 – Women’s Christmas
There is a custom, rooted in Ireland, of celebrating Epiphany (January 6, which brings the Christmas season to a close) as Women’s Christmas. It originated as a day when the women, who often carried the domestic responsibilities all year, took Epiphany as an occasion to celebrate together at the end of the holidays, leaving hearth and home to the men for a few hours.
Women’s Christmas offers a timely opportunity to pause and step back from whatever has kept you busy and hurried in the past weeks or months. As the Christmas season comes to a close, this is an occasion both to celebrate with friends and also to spend time in reflection before diving into the responsibilities of this new year.

We meet at Christ Church Cathedral
on the 1st Monday evening of Each Month.
Join us as we Celebrate Women’s Spirituality in this Ongoing Group of Brigid’s Place.
This is a time to meet one another and to learn what it means to be a soul friend. We are Women joining together, opening our hearts to one another, awakening our inner lights and letting the beauty of our soul flow together on this journey called Life.
John O’Donohue describes an AnamCara in this way …
“Anam is the Gaelic word for soul and cara is the word for friend. So anam cara is the Celtic word for “soul friend”. With an anam cara you can share your innermost self, your mind and your heart. This friendship is an act of recognition and belonging. When you have an anam cara, your friendship cuts across all convention, morality, and category. You are joined in an ancient and eternal way with the “friend of your soul.” The Celtic understanding did not set limitations of space or time on the soul. This art of belonging awakens and fosters a deep and special companionship.”
This ongoing circle of women will enjoy friendship and grow together spiritually through book studies, art making, and the sharing of sacred times together.
Women’s Group Schedule:
First Monday evening of each Month, 6:30 to 8:30 (unless the first Monday falls on a holiday, in which case the meeting will be held on an alternate date to be announced)

Free parking across San Jacinto in the Cathedral parking garage.
There is no charge for this ongoing group, but please register so we have an idea of the number of participants to expect.
