May 22 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 pm
Conversations with Scripture: The Gospel of John
by: Cynthia Briggs Kittredge
Brigid’s Place invites you to join one of two groups to study Conversations with Scripture: The Gospel of John, by Cynthia Briggs Kittredge, Dean of the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest. Written in accessible language and sensitive to those who have little or no experience in reading the Bible, we will explore the historical and critical background of this Gospel as we are invited to claim a new perspective on such topics as the locus of authority, the role of women in Jesus’ ministry and church, and the function of Scripture in the life of believers. Kittredge requests readers to have wide minds capable of curiosity and close attention to this demanding, patient, and generous gospel.
Requirements are to read the book and attend as many classes as possible. This is a self-study with a facilitator where we learn from one another.
