Each year, millions of gallons of paint remain unused or unsold by ournation's retailers. The National Council on Paint Disposition, Inc.(NCPD), a nonprofit environmental organization, is compiling a list ofnonprofit organizations that are interested in receiving the free paint that might otherwise end up in a landfill. There is no charge to participate in this program and no requirement to take in quantities more than your organization can use. For more information, or to get

KPFT Radio is one of five Pacifica radio stations in the U.S. It broadcasts radio by all volunteer community members.

Houston Simplicity Network supports Houstonians in simplifying their lives.

Texans for Alternatives to Pesticides educates the public and public officials about the harmful effects of pesticides, and about safer alternatives for use in schools, homes, and public areas.

Urban Harvest a organization that builds community through community gardens. They work in schools, churches, neighborhoods, homeless shelters and food pantries. They also sponsor a weekly farmer's market every Saturday.

Pacific Yurts  A great temporary housing solution.  FEMA should look at these beautiful yurts which are cost effective and sturdy.  Mongolian nomads have been living in these for centuries.  A great solution for disaster relief.

Contemporary Magdalene Community
The Magdalene Community, composed of both men and women, is a connective community seeking dialogue with people representing the many varieties of spirituality and religious traditions in our city. The Community is dedicated to a celebration of all life and peace through study, meditation, and action and seeks to engage in the spiritual practice of dialogue and conversation. Evening visits to temples and synagogues in addition to Sunday gatherings are proposed for the spring.
