Hi, All,

Thanks for signing up to be involved in Brigid’s Paradigm this past weekend.

The model is a very good one, but of course falls flat unless it is implemented.  And, naturally, every great idea must be nurtured, pruned and developed.  But the fruits of the idea can’t be harvested unless we start.

I have made every effort to get everyone’s name spelled correctly, but you won’t hurt my feelings if you send me a correction.  Further, if you know of someone who signed up on the list and didn’t receive this email, it may have been because I mis-read the email, or simply couldn’t make out the handwriting.

Brigid’s Paradigm is currently driven by the energy of volunteers, and I am fully aware that everyone has only so many good-guy hours to donate to any one cause.  You can be as involved as you would like.  That is, if you want to simply remain as a fully informed “lurker,” that is fine.  If you would like to jump in with both feet, you’ll have friends.  In all cases, you will be the advocacy group for an idea whose time has come.

I will be sending a newsletter from time to time with information to pique your interest, and also to keep you informed as to the stage of development of Brigid’s Paradigm.  Building recycled houses in Houston will be a daunting task, but it is do-able.

I would very happily speak to groups of 25 or more in the Houston area, with slides, for free, but would ask that a donation be made to Brigid’s Paradigm in the amount of gas that I would consume, since I am located in Huntsville.  I can speak on a number of topics, but all of them will eventually converge on what we are trying to do with Brigid’s Paradigm.  If you know of a group that you think might be interested, all you need to do is ask.

I can also arrange for tours of the recycled houses in Huntsville for groups of 40-50, provided I have at least 6-8 weeks notice.  Once again, a donation to Brigid’s Paradigm would be appropriate, perhaps $5 per person.  Typically the homeowners are willing to allow groups to wander through their houses with advance notice if it is on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.  Tours for individuals are always available without actually going into the houses (other than the current construction project, which happens to be a treehouse).  All you need to do is let me know.  And it is free.

I want to leave the planet a better place than I found it, and so therefore, I am in this for the long haul.

 I hope you are, too.

Thanks for putting your name on the list.  We’ve got some exciting things on the horizon.
